Frequently asked questions

Questions about the password generator.

Find out how passwords are generated, where to save them, and when to use a passkey.

Are generated passwords sent to Denver Tech Support?

No. Passwords are generated locally in your browser using its cryptographic random-number generator. The generator does not send the generated password to Denver Tech Support.

How long should my password be?

Use a long, unique password for each account. Sixteen or more randomly generated characters is a useful starting point when the website allows it. A password manager can save and fill the result, so you do not have to memorize it.

Why would I change the character settings?

Some websites limit length, symbols, or repeated characters. Adjust these controls to match the account requirements. If a website permits all the default character types, you can usually leave those settings alone.

Where should I save my password?

Save it in a password manager. Do not rely on the generator page or your clipboard to retain it. Use the Copy button or select the generated text, then save it with the correct account before closing the page.

Should I use a passkey instead?

Where an account supports passkeys, they can replace a typed password and help protect against phishing. You approve sign-in with a device, security key, or password manager. Set up a recovery method so you can regain access if you lose a device.

Can Denver Tech Support help secure my accounts?

Yes. Account security consulting can cover password managers, passkeys, multi-factor authentication, recovery options, and who has access to business accounts or shared files. Call (720) 712-3131 or email hello@denvertech.support to arrange help.
