Recommended action

Do not click the payment link or open the attachment. Confirm the invoice by contacting the company through a phone number, website, or account portal you already trust.

Reasons it may look legitimate

  • The message uses business-like formatting and includes familiar billing language.
  • The link uses HTTPS, which is common on real payment portals but is not proof by itself.

Reasons it looks risky

  • The email asks for payment from an unexpected link and includes an invoice attachment.
  • There is no strong verification detail, such as a known invoice number or contact you recognize.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about ScamCheck

Coverage, privacy, and what the report can tell you.

How do I try ScamCheck?

Forward a suspicious email to scamchecker@denvertech.support. Your first report is free. The report explains warning signs, sender authenticity, phishing risk, and a recommended action.

Do I need a QuickTech subscription?

No. ScamCheck is available on its own for $5 per month for one submitting email address, with up to 14 reports per week. QuickTech Home, Pro, and Priority include coverage for up to two email addresses. Pro and Priority subscribers can add coverage for more employees.

Does ScamCheck scan attachments?

No. The report can note that an attachment is present, but ScamCheck does not open or scan the file. Do not open an unexpected attachment simply because the email report found few warning signs.

Does a low-risk report mean an email is safe?

A report helps you judge the message; it cannot guarantee that every scam will be detected. Independently verify requests for money, passwords, or remote access using a phone number or website you already trust.

What if I already clicked a link or sent money?

Contact Denver Tech Support if you clicked, shared credentials, or allowed remote access. If you sent money or exposed payment details, contact your bank or payment provider promptly using its official number. Tell the support provider what happened so the next steps address the actual exposure.

What information is used to prepare the report?

ScamCheck processes the email you forward, including visible sender and routing information, message text, links, payment requests, and attachment presence. Send only material you want reviewed and avoid forwarding passwords or security codes. The Privacy Policy explains how service records are handled.
